Up front: I have nothing negative to say about the sale, however the announcement to the "masses" is very lacking. Some follow up suggestions that would help ease the concerns of owners like myself:
1. A joint announcement by both past and present owners that outlines...
A. How Machx is being integrated (if it is) with MachMotions current offering... After looking at the MachMotion's web site I see an application that has a totally different UI. Do both stay or is there an integration? I'm Senior Engineering Manager and know if the underlying platforms are totally different, and integration path could be a challenge. If I heard the underlying platform was changing from Machx to a C, C++, or other SDE, I'd start looking for another solution. This is critical information for the Machx community to understand.
B. Projected timeline for when to expect a "Mach Motion" look and feel into their offerings...etc.
C. MachMotion(MH) seems to be an "upgrade" shop for large commercial shops... How does this effective the Hobbyist support/MM offer for that market segment?
D. Customer Support - What changes? New process, combined "User Community?"
I really believe a follow up announcement by the MM or a MM and Mach is warranted a really necessary as without one, MM will definitely experience a loss of market share...especially at the "Hobbyist segment!"
Anxiously looking forward to more information.. Id had having to redo my scripts if the underlying platform changes. "Fear of the 'unknown' can be as devastating as fear of the 'known'!" - me!
